-====== Race ======
-
-^ Skill ^ Non-Proficient? ^ Dice Type ^ Effect in a Nutshell ^ Mana? ^
-| [[race_skills#polymorph|Polymorph]] | No | Standard Win-Loss Roll | Change self or others into another race; races increase based on degree | Per degree |
-| [[race_skills#shape_shifting|Shape-shifting]] | No | None | Shift into another creature and, possibly, a hybrid of the two | Natural: no; Unnatural: one + one per size class difference |
-
-===== Polymorph =====
-Polymorph is the ability to change the character, an ally, or an opponent into a shape of the user's choosing (from the shapes pre-chosen by the character based on degree). The character or the chosen person becomes that race as far as flying, talons, thick hide, gills, etc, but does not gain any special abilities of that race. The race morphed into must be of the same size as the one they came from, plus or minus one body size per degree after first.
-
-If a character uses this power on others, the unwilling defenders roll their personal defense. The effect duration is one hour or until the caster returns them to their normal form. For unwilling participants, it is one round per level of the caster up to a maximum of one hour.
-
-Maintaining the effect costs a passive action.
-
-===== Shapeshifting =====
-Shapeshifting is the ability to shift back and forth between a base shape and another shape. Sometimes this happens because of a disease (e.g. lycanthropy) and sometimes it happens because of the nature of the race itself. This differs from polymorph because the shapeshifting is also, in a way, an innate shape whereas polymorph is changing someone between a number of predetermined shapes.
-
-Shapeshifting requires no mana and allows for the shifter to shift to the secondary form once per day per degree.
-
-At second degree, a character can shift to a hybrid instead of a full change. Claws, teeth, or more can be shifted instead of doing a full shift.
-
-At third degree and above, the shift to the unnatural state can actually heal damage at a rate of one die per degree. At third degree, this would be three dice of healing. At fourth, four dice of healing.
-
-==== Unwanted Shifts ====
-Unwanted shifts can also occur at certain predetermined times (e.g. the full moon for werewolves) based on the nature of the race or the disease contracted. These are not counted against the one time per day per degree that a shapeshifter can choose to shift. To prevent an unwanted shift, a character can make a Skill Check vs Personal Defense.
