Scholar
Scholars are well-read, usually in some area of specialty in which they have interest.
Professor
Professors are teachers who teach at a university and are generally specialized in a certain area of study. They don't deal with students as much as they do when they were teachers, but instead are better in investigation, hypothesis, and study.
