Just because something might be entitled magic, doesn’t mean everything has to be shot out of fingers, hands, or feet toward the intended target. If a player wants to change things up for their character, they can toss around alchemical potions, magic dust, draw sigils with their fingers, a paintbrush, or chalk, sing, or any number of things to invoke the magic. There’s no penalty to any of these methods of attacking other than what’s already limited. In fact, it might be a lot of fun to not just do magic via handwavium and command words.
