Dice Mob
Dice Mob is an RPG that involves the rolling of one or more six-sided dice to defeat enemies (often monsters), perform skills, and ultimately build stronger and stronger characters. We've tried to make the mechanics easy to understand and quick to get started. There are no classes and no alignments. We've stripped it down to just who your character is, what skills they have, and what items they're carrying.
Goal
The goal of Dice Mob was to come up with rules that are easy to teach and easy to play, but aren’t so simplistic that a player will only play for a few campaigns and give up because there’s no sense of progression. That balance is tricky because most minimalist RPGs accomplish the easy to teach and easy to play pieces but fail miserably on the sense of progression. We’re going to try to do both. The players and the game master (GM) are going to have a lot of say in how a lot of stuff is implemented, and aside from the actual rolling of the dice, none of the other rules should be considered “set in stone”. With that said, though, players and the GM should generally come to a consensus before a campaign if there are certain Dice Mob rules to which they aren’t going to strongly adhere.

Measurements
We are going to use the metric system and measure everything in meters. It’s generally not difficult for someone used to English measurements to translate from meters to yards, which are about equal. For smaller or larger measurements, we might have to use centimeters and kilometers, but those are just 100th of a yard or 1000 yards to those who have to translate and shouldn’t make too much of a difference. We’re not usually dealing with exact measurements anyway, so if an English system user just translates a centimeter to an inch or a kilometer to a mile, it won’t be a big deal.
For weights, we’ll also use the metric system but most of the measurements will be in kilograms because we won’t often have use for grams. For English system measurers, a kilogram is a little over two pounds. We’ll most often use this when discussing the weights of races. To simplify (and perhaps even oversimplify), a fit adult human female generally weighs between fifty and seventy-five kilograms. A fit adult human male generally weighs weighs between seventy-five and one hundred kilograms. Of course, this generally varies widely, even in fit adult humans, based on build and musculature.
Nomenclature
For simplicity’s sake, when we talk about skills being used, we will use the word character to identify the person using the skill. That’s not to say that monsters, non-player characters, magical swords, or other encounters can’t also have skills. It’s just to make it easier to write everything down.
